Mei & me in the hot tub

Mei had a meeting at a great new children's hospital in Fresno, California. I tagged along for the trip and hung out in the hotel room with my notebook computer, working on the source code for my latest design. We stayed at the Piccadilly Inn University in Fresno. Map

The central valley of California is known for being warm, year round, but this evening it was pretty chilly to be outdoors in swimwear. None the less, we could not resist taking a dip in the hotel's hot tub.

Driving around Fresno drove home the realization of the homogeneity of America's small cities and large towns. It brought me nostalgic memories of travelling America during my childhood when each place had its own character.

Mei and I visited our friends, The Romans and The Hongs, in Austin, Texas. Map

Mei at Salar de Uyuni

Mei y yo planned un aventura a Bolivia con nuestro amigo Mike y sus hermanos para visitar a nuestro otro amiga Bernardine y Mike's familia y para see the sights. Hice enfermo dos días antes del viaje y Mei fue sin mí.

Mei hiked at high altitude, carrying a large backpack, in Las Yungas mountains. She met the local residents, enchanted the children, and practiced Bolivian style dancing with our friends. Mei returned to La Paz and visited Lago Titicaca before heading south to Oruro and a jeep tour of the beautiful Salar de Uyuni.

This is Mei, standing on the "Salar" salt lake near the southern town of Uyuni in Bolivia. Map

Here Mei is hanging out on a warm summer afternoon on the back porch that Brigida decorated at Uncle Sal and Auntie Denise's house in Chico, California. Shortly after this we went for a delicious dinner at Caffé Malvina, which we agree serves the best Italian style meal in California, north of San Francisco.

This is a well composed photographic self-portrait of Mei's legs. The background is well chosen and the foreground subject is intriguing without being explicit. Map
